Who We Are

We are a small group of parents working in the charity and arts sectors, and we know all too well the challenges facing children in families affected by chronic mental illness.

Peer Play! started because we couldn’t find the services and support our kids needed to navigate these unique challenges.

Our children often asked, "Why is this happening to me?"

And as parents, we wondered, "How can we help them feel less alone?"

We wanted to create a space where our kids could find friends who understand and feel part of a community.

Through our work in youth arts, we understand the value of art as a means of communication for children. As parents, we recognize the power of play in building self-confidence and making new buddies.

We understand that Peer Play! isn’t a magic wand that will fix everything. But we hope it can be a bright spot for kids, helping them feel less isolated and more connected. Our mission is to create a supportive, fun and safe environment where children can feel understood and form lasting friendships.
